Not Over You

You cry on my shoulder about her and how much you love her. You tell me that you are sad that she doesn't love you back like how you love her.. Every time another tear slides down your stained face it breaks my heart just that much more. When you cry over her I break inside I make sure not to show you or let you know that I am crying because I know it will start a fight that neither one of us wants to deal with at that moment. I have tried everything to help you get over her and to help me get over you. I have tried showing you that in some way she is happy now, and that i haven't seen her this happy in a long time. But that only hurts you more. I am in between a rock and a hard place on this one. I don't want you to cry for someone that loves you. Because the person that you are meant to be with will never hurt you like that. One day you will tell me that you are ok an that you are not hurt but I can hear it in your voice that you are lying. I hate that you feel like you have to lie to me about her but I guess that's how it has to be. But remember next time you cry on my shoulder about her I'm breaking inside because I'm "Not Over You" - Gavin Degraw
